Right I am mightily peed off. man City have just torn my boys apart and made us look like pathetic 3rd division idiots. So, to take my mind off it -

Anyone planning to do the 'Ring next year?

Anyone already done it with the Club?

Any feedback, hints n tips, where to stay, how to get there etc etc?

Finally - where have all the M3s gone - just got the club mag and only one for sale!

Okay - not finally - any Evo Sport owners want to px for a sorted track M3 with Schnitzer suspension, etc etc etc?

Right, get your teeth into that lot, and if you are reading this Mr Wilkinson - sort your job out!

I was trying to get some feedback from the club on the Ring next year. I really fancy doing the proper driver training days when all the buses and sightseer's are excluded. I really don't want to meet a bunch of lollygaggers around a bend a full chat..........

I went in july of this year, and the club does promote it quite a lot, I know the M Power section do set up days/weekends etc (in fact there is a member that has his own hotel on the Belgium/German borders that organises trips there etc.) The trouble is, the track is open all year round (you can go on Christmas day if you wish) and it isn't really free of sightseers etc (although you don't get them on the track, apart from the ring taxis, which you won't beat!) they see you coming, if you are a darn sight faster they move, but 9 times out of 10 they are really quick.

We are trying to organise a run in June/July of 03 to coincide with a large event that's happening there, and the ring is open to use at the time as well. Fancy it? All are welcome..........

There is an excellent web site (I'll get the address for you) that is written by a UK guy who spends most of his time over there, and it includes all you need to know.

And finally, that M3 for sale is mine, but I've decided to keep hold of it now, and get another car to use as a day to day car.

I'm up for a trip to the Ring. I like the idea of a BMWCC event with tuition for folks who have never been there before.

Hey Pottsy.....heading for a Sport Evo?? I think both Independent and Moseley have examples. You can't have mine.....so there. Why not place a wanted ad? What's your plan? Are you going to keep to a standard Sport Evo, or modify it? I reckon it's depressing how cheap 2.3 M3s have become. I bet I never sell mine...........I'd never get back enough money. You might struggle to get a decent price for yours, why not hang onto it and have one track day M3 and one really shiny one? Just an idea.

John W. I'm just getting wound up with all of you talking about nice 'sports'.  My other half wants something a bit different (she really wants a db7 but we all dream) so I think we are finally decided on a new MR2.  Her other fanciable car is a griffith but I wouldnt be happy with her safety in a TVR - I'm not sure I'd be happy with my safety!

Next thought was - why not get an Elise, then she could use the 330 coupe on cold/wet days and I would live with the elsie or M3.

Then you lot started and I thought mmm sport for the road - nice (especially having seen yours).

But you are right (the beer has talked) - Ill never get the money for my M3 that its worth so I rang Nige at Bexleys today and its going in on saturday for new rear wheel bearing, gbox rebuild and a smartening up of the interior (now its stripped and Nige left it messy).

Next step (03) is engine management set up by a mates mate..... see what I can get without cams - would hope for 240+, maybe 250 but I'll see if Nigel has his set up yet and how much output he is getting.

Then Ill do up the wheels and be comfotable for a while.

Of course, lottery = Very low Mileage Evo Sport to go alongside a 355 (best sounding car in the world  - even better than an RS1800 in Dalby).

Gents,

Will be going to the Ring on a number of occasions next year, as every year. I've been in my
330d Sport and/or Skyline in the past, but have recently picked up an E39 M5. So, I'm itching to get
over there and see what she'll do! Can recommend people to see or speak to and places to stay if
needed.

Cheers
Matt
