Can anybody tell me how the variable speed control

on the interior fan works.Is it controlled by resistors/black

box/motor windings???????

At moment only runs on full speed

PLease help.

With the same problem on my E39 it was the resistor pack that was knackered. A common problem which will cost U around £50 plus fitting if req.

Got the same car, same year, same problem.  The resistor pack is knackered and only operates on the highest setting.  Cost about 1 hour's labour and £50 for the part.  I've never bothered to get mine done.  It's located deep into the dash/footwell and probably not a job to do yourself
