Have a look at the picture.

A shows the front 8x17ET10 compared to the front 8.5x17 ET15 I am running.
The ET10 will sits a little bit more in the fender, so I think you will be fine. But my fender lips are rolled.

B shows the rear 9x17 ET19 compared to the 8.5x17ET15 I am running. You can see that the ET19 is sitting further out. I had 245/35 fitted and the fender lips rolled and it was rubbing with 4 people. But my car is lower than stock.

C is to give you an idea where my rims sit compared to the 15 inch stock rims

Thanks Uwe, useful illustrations. Mine is lowered, but has no back seats, so less risk of issues on the rear. I'll deal with the front arch issue when i get to it - picked the rims up today and am well chuffed with the condition. Im using the car as an everyday smoke at the moment, so will leave these off until i can use it as a weekender.

thanks for your help as always mate

That will be fine. What brand? I was running this combination but have now equal sizes each corner.
The staggered sizes do look good and are fine for road use, but I prefer the equal sizes after trying it out.

Uwe, does that mean you are using 245/35X17 on the front? Any clearance issues with that?

Im using eagle f1's for the front - was gonna do the same make for the 245's on the rear, but my friend the tyre dealer had 2 new top end fulda's for £75 each all in, so i took the cheaper route im afraid to say!! I wont use these wheels on the track.
