hi all i had a trip to manchester yesterday and met up with Mark(europameister) He had asked me to prep his paint on his macau car really good day had.Really nice genuine car and owner iam happy with what we achieved considering the conditions(long story!!!! LOL) heres a shot of car afterwards paint was covered in a lot of swirls .Bonnet was bad as were the sides. paint prepped with: porter cable with co**** pad using zaino zpc porter cable with fine pad using sonus no.2 prep paint then covered with zaino Z1 polish lok and then covered in zaino z2 pro sealant. Both applied with porter cable using non abrasive pad. this was then removed and car was misted with Z8 finale spray. car was washed prior to all of this with washing up liquid to strip as much previous wax/polish from paint group buy microfibre products used throughout.

I really have been Zaino'd!! A really big thanks to John for working on my car yesterday. Started work at 8.AM and 8 hours later my cars paint had been transformed! It is a shame that we didn't take before/during and after shots because it was amazing to watch the transformation take place. As John has pointed out before, the secret of the finish is all down to the hard work that is put in to prepping the car. My car has original paint and after 18 years of Cra*p and abuse the paint was dull and had bad swirl marking and light scratching on every panel. This was really evident in bright sunlight or under flourescent lighting. We worked on the car at the underground car park where I work but as it was Sunday it was lit only with emergency lights, luckily we did manage to locate a decent(ish) halogen light and with much shuffling of the car around, John got the job done without so much as a toilet break never mind a lunch hour! When I got the car home yesterday, everybody passed comment about how good the car looked and today the colour has deepened further. The results are way beyond what I expected. I called at my local BMW dealer today to pick up a touch up stick. (The only down side to the high gloss finish is that all my stone chips aren't hidden behind a film of muck!) and the guys in the parts department came out to look at the car and were amazed that the car looked so good. I'll be honest and admit that cleaning cars is not exactly my favourite pastime (as John will vouch for after looking at my windows!) but it was almost addictive watching first the swirls and marking being removed and the effect of the Zaino polish afterwards. I had already purchased the Zaino kit and microfibre before John prepped the car but now that I have seen the Porter Cable in use, I've ordered one of those too! Can't wait for John to e mail me the other pics he took (hint hint). I am now resigned to the sad fact that I can't visit the local East European staffed car wash for the rest of my life and that I am going to end up with a microfibre fetish!

Mark, Well done, I know exactly how you feel, and watching the transformation take place before your eyes, its truely unbelieveable! You can make something which looked like needed a respray look like something that has had just that, only better! Your bonnet looks stunning......any more pics? |

Uwe, Have a look at this link to a post that John has put on e30zone. http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=vi ewtopic&t=25586 I have ordered mine from the U.S as it is not supplied by anyone in the UK. Cost is approx £145 for the tool, backing plate and three pads. You then have to but a transformer which I have ordered for £40. I'll post a link later tonight but I haven't got the details at work and I can't remember where I've ordered it from! I cannot stress how pleased I am with the results!!!! Mark
