My 51 plate X5 3.0 d Sport Auto, regulary fails to start if I dont drive it for a week or so. I've had to jump start it 12 times in the last 18 months (thankfully it was at home each time) although once I had to call out BMW roadside assistance to jump start it from Uni as there was no one about to jump start it (I keep the jump leads in the boot now).

It's had a new battery fitted last year, but these sealed units are meant to last the lifetime of the car...... has any one else had this problem, and if so how can I fix it??

The dealers say the cars not at fault??!? But it's becoming a right pain in the a*s* now.

Please help!!

How would I find this out?

I'm reluctant to take it back to the dealers, and get charged for being told "the cars fine".

Maybe a dodgy Alt if its not charging battery up

Or it could be a faulty battery
