When i fitted my h.l. wash/wipe assembly I had to cut the upper edges of grilles , in order to give space to the brackets movement. I removed grilles and I noticed that there were pre-cut signs , so I took a cutter and removed them.I believe those signs are standard. I also relocated the relay: I attached it with the bolt securing the ignition coil (wiring loom is long enough). It's a dry position and the relay will last forever! Francesco from Italy |

I didn't have to cut my grilles, but I've compared with and without, and they can be swapped or modified, no worries. I'd use a small padsaw to cut the plastic for the wiper arms. The only other thing you will need to worry about are the three little stops on the headlight surround for the wipers. You may have to change the headlights (or at least the surrounds) to get these. cheers

All of these parts are interchangeable and the brackets that the lights bolt into have holes pre drilled for bolting in the wash wipe mechanism. James |

On a 6er -only three wires to connect the relay to the rest of the loom. -as well as the washer jet holes you will need to cut huge slots in the upper part of the grilles for the wiper arms, not too difficult... -you will also need 100% perfect non-return/anti-siphon valves in the washer line, as well as another pump. Having gone through a recent rebuild of this I posted extensively on Bigcoupe.com recently re this subject cheers

You will need to cut out small holes for the wash jets. Otherwise they should fit OK. I would check that they actually work. The wash wipes were notorious for failing. I would be very suprised if they work OK. Good luck Ian

Evening all Iv managed to locate a guy in here in Auz that has scrapped a UK spec Csi. Hes willing to sell me the headlight washwipe system for a reasonable price. My csi is Auz spec and does not have this already installed and to me it makes the front of the car look a little too "base model". Unfortunatly this lad no longer has the grill, i presume same as the e30s that there were little ovals cast into the grill for the wiper shafts to protrude? Will i be able to fit this sytem neatly to my car does anyone know?. Eg bolt it to my headlight unit . would it be possible to neatly dremel/drill the needed semi circle into the grill as a lst resort or is this just messing about. Opinions please.. |
