I've recently bought a '94 M5 and seem to be spending a lot of time in Dublin right now.

Do you guy's get together often or is it a more adhoc arrangement? I like the idea of track days....... tell me more

Derek

It is only really in its infancy and we are planning a track day for around the start of February. However, if you have any ideas for the meantime by all means suggest them here. We had a general meet and concours @ motor import near the naas rd. recently which was good fun.

M5 in Dublin traffic? Do you have an fuel tanker following you around?

Killian,

It's been a while since I was involved in any car clubs or organising their activities - the last being a 4x4 club in Kuala Lumpur and that was all about getting muddy in the jungle!

When I was with the Lancia club we'd normally combine a track day with a weekend event whereby we'd get together on a Saturday morning, do the fun stuff on the track and then retire to an old hotel for the evening. Sundays were normally a concours & touring rally.

Unfortunately due to lots of motorway miles my beastie won't be up for any concours prizes - unless there's a prize for most stone chips! (Does anyone know a reliable paint shop that does a good job on stone chips????)

As I'm not sure I want to be taking the 5 onto the track quite yet, I've been looking at the following possibility. It''s not cheap but friends who've done say it's worth every cent.

the track day should work out @ about €100 depending on numbers. I am trying to get more info on insurance for the day.
By the way if there was a concours competition for the most stone chips then i would win hands down
