Remote locking probs!!!

   Hi, 
On my 1994 525i E34, i found that the car should have remote locking.. but i had no remote! so after a trip to the dealer i now have one, thinking it would be easily programable... WRONG!!!!!
It is not the kind where you insert a chip from the fob into the module and press a button, like help webvsites suggest.
I have the understanding that i have to solder certain lugs in the key to match the configuration of the car. As I don't have a spare key to copy can anyone suggest how i can find which tags need soldering????
