Any ideas where I can obtain a workshop manual for a Highline? I saw on ebay a cd workshop manual are they any good ?

There is no 6-series only manual. I got the Bentley manual for the E28 5-series which covers just about everything you need.

They are expensive but I got mine from Amazon.co.uk. Look on New & Used for the bargains. Think I paid £28.

there's a chilton's "BMW sedans and coupes" book also. I also have an E30 Bently manual and an E12 Haynes.

coffee table books!!

If you don't want to shell out, the highline has very similar engine etc to the E34 535i. The rest of the car's mechanicals are basically E28 5-series. I have one of the last chrome bumper cars (early '87) and the wiring etc is identical tothe E28 535i. The body and trim are of course peculiar to the 6 series, and there are good online resources for these items (eg bcg).
