Nankangs are Yokohama made under licence.
Notice how the Logos are quite similar?

Similar examples are Corsa (Pirelli) and India
(Dunlop).

Hiabboy - a 16" 'Pinas is big enough for anyone.

MIJ - 01922 - 645 - 646, try to get hold of Jay - the boss!

I got my chroming done through a bigcoupe forum member, I don't have the direct contact, he arranged it for me as they'd done his when he did his style 5's.

I'll email him & find out for you.

I got the nuts & bolts shotblasted first at Redditch Shotblasting, can't recall the exact price but it wasn't an arm &  a leg!
01527 - 529 - 659, speak to Dave or Paul.

Hope that helps!

Have you got a contact number for MIJ?

I'm based in Wolverhampton and have been looking for someone to do my Style 5's. Yours look great by the way!!

Could do with the number for the place who did your bolts aswell if you don't mind

Cheers in advance,

Jim.

I've used Nankangs before. First thought was to bin them asap but they turned out ok. Grip was good enough for me in the wet or dry & tyre life seemed reasonable. When the car need tyres at the other end I put Nankangs on as I like to have the same make & tread pattern all round.

You'll get some people calling them rubbish but it all depends what your expectations are.

Your style 5's look superb!.  Get some wheel wax like Mer's Wicked Wheel Wax (naff name, good product) on them (inside & out) before you fit them to the car. Helps stop brake dust etc from getting a hold.

Costs;

£160 all in, excluding the chroming of the bolts - I got those done via a bigcoupe forum members' contact in South Wales, they cost me £35 including postage, pretty good I reckon for a whole set!!!!
Also included refitting the new'ish rear tyres & balancing.

Quite a bargain I reckon! Thats less than £50 a wheel!!!!!

Just need to obtain a spare wheel style 5 now!!!

I must say they look a million dollars, i've got 16"Alpinas on my 6 at the moment but they look a bit small.

I have a tatty set of splits the same as yours , the big question is how much did it cost to sort them ?.

Profit is more reasonable than justice.

I'm glad to report that my Style 5's off my Highline have been sorted to my total satisfaction.

Rims highly polished, centres powder-coated, plastic centres colour-matched, all nuts & bolts (that hold the split rim together....) shotblasted & chromed.

Am having some new Nankang NS-2's fitted on the fronts, 235/45/17, £60 each inc vat, fitting & balancing - can't grumble. Heard they are very good, the car doesn't do many miles & I'm doing this on budgets set by my good lady......... blink.gif ohmy.gif wacko.gif

Anyone used the Nankangs, either in NS-1 or -2 version?

Anyway, what do you think of my style 5's eh?!! Jay up at MIJ in Walsall did them for me, I'm seriously impressed! smile.gif

Will take some better pics, this was a quick snap with my camera phone!! biggrin.gif

Won't be putting them on my 635 this winter unless I have to attend a special occasion..........
