Hi, i have a 1989 320iSE with an electrical problem. i put a new cd player in it and the electric ariel wire touched the power wire and there was a spark. Fuse was replaced and everything seemed ok til i let the car sit for about 3 days and the battery was flat. Was told it might be a short in the alternator so repaced it with a 2nd hand one. No difference. Have disconnected the radio and ariel. No difference. Does anybody have any ideas where the problem might lie or should I just take it to my local auto electrician who charges an arm and a leg. Or should I just keep disconnecting the battery if I`m not driving it for a few days.(thats worked so far).

Oh.....the engine also makes a loud ticking noise when driven hard, but then they all do that after a while don`t they??

Cheers
