Those of you who have 4" X 6" speakers fitted for the audio in you E24's. I had to replace the front speakers (there are the oval type), but as you may be aware, space is very tight there in the front.

I bought a pair of JBL speakers but they didnt fit in the front or the rear as they were too deep, as they had a collar over the top of the speaker.

I then bought a pair of Pioneer TS - 4628 speakers which fitted in fine as they are the same dimensions and no deeper that original fitments.

The box lists that they can be fitted in to a 7 series from 9/79 to 9/86, and they also fit in the E24.

Though this may be of use to anyone who has blown speakers in their cars. They also sound pretty deecent, and cost me £32.

The most important thing to watch out for is the depth of the units, which in my experience cant be greater than 50mm (these were 49mm deep to be precise).

You can get them from:

http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=TS4628

http://www.mcs-direct.co.uk/acatalog/info_2_TS4628.html

product of google UK search 'TS4628'

Hope this comes in useful to anyone,

-Ben

I would have thought that any speakers that conform to this depth restriction would do the job though.

Funny thing is that the box is labelled to show that they directly suitable for Alfa Romeo / Fiat / Volkswagen!
