Anyone see last weeks Autocar with their artists computer generated impression of the upcoming small (Golf size with rear wheel drive) BMW.Personally I rather like the design and if the motorsport division get their hands on it we could have another E30 M3 on our hands. What do you guys think?

Right then looks as though no one reads autocar.Theres still a pic on thier site at www.autocarmagazine.co.uk and when i get a chance over the next few days i'll post some specs, the only one sprining to mind being a 240 bhp 2 litre speculating that an msport car might be in the pipeline.

The front seems to look like the new 5 & 7 series', seeing as the jury is mostly still out on that design, it's quite brave to release another car llike it!

I like the it. With BM build quality and some poke it could be a winner.

Right then some specs :- Prices from about £15000, on sale early 2005, approx golf size,to weigh roughly 1150kg, engines 1.6 1.8 and 2 litre diesel, 3 and 5 dr hatch, cabriolet and a midi mpv (horror) and possible M2.

I rather like the styling,Bangle's 'flame surfacing' idea seems to work on small cars.I like the new Z4 too,but on the new 5 and 7 I'm not convinced.Neither are the dealers.Apparently BMW are facelifting the 7 already due to dealer pressure, due for release late next year I believe.
