Hello

Well, it's that time again.  We have been asked by the Alfa Romeo Club to beat... I mean race them (and the rest) in the annual Intermarque Karting Challenge.

This year, the event is taking place on Sunday September 28th at Teesside Karting.  For those who you not familiar with the area, it's just outside of Middlesbrough in Cleveland (which suits me fine as I'm only 30 miles away).

Teams will consist of three drivers.  The race will be of one and a half hours duration with half an hour practice and costs £90 a team (£30 each for those who are mathematically challenged).  Arrival is 10.30am for an 11.00am start.  There appears to be a total of about 20 teams.

Teeside karting doesn't look anywhere near as impressive as the PF International at which we won last year.  However, the track is probably one of the best I have raced on in my opinion.  It favours those drivers who have the guts to keep their foot flat to the floor when others are lifting off - in other words it's a fast circuit.  There's a fantastic double chicane that can be taken flat out by just clipping the edges of the kerbs.  You can tell the 'wusses' as they are the ones that lift off mid chicane and hold you up!!!  Below is a link to the circuit:

All clubs are initially allocated 3 teams but I suspect that we may be allowed more depending on the interest from other clubs.

I need ONE more driver to complete the last of the 3rd team.  The first person to get their cheque to me will be him/her.

There may be a chance of another team so I will hold onto the details for additional members who are interested and contact them if we are allowed any more spaces.

Those interested should e-mail me directly at nigelmarston@tinyworld.co.uk as soon as possible (I need the full payment for the driver for the third team straight away).
