Hi,i'm thinking about de-cating my E36 z3 m,has any one done this and what sort of differances did it make.Not long had the car so i'm open to any tunning mods......sorry its the z3m,cheers

which car do u have?
the e36 or a ZM 3?

The designation is M Roadster or M Coupe E36/7 for the roadster and E36/8 for the coupe There is no such thing as an MZ3 although so few people realise it its hardly worth arguing the toss. Check out www.zroadster.net and you may get some help

Jon Beckett tried the Decat pipes, car dyno'd before and after. Apparently the pipes made little or no difference to the readings, so he had them removed. No doubt he will enlighten you further when he reads the thread.

Can't speak for the M roadster, by my E36 is decatted, and due to the ECU or whatever, there was no immediate difference. However after a few thousand miles things are changing. Main difference is way up top of the rev-band, where she used to tail off, it still pulls. Crackles and pops like the S54 E46 M3 too! |

nope. having gone through hell doing this after fitting the new inlet manfold, I wasn't keen! BTW my decat pipe cost me a fiver.... |
