There was good reason for the guys at BMW not releasing a RHD drive version of the E30....... with the way they put the beasties together I'd take that as proof enough that you don't want a conversion. I've spent a lot of time driving a RHD E34 M5 around France and find that the extra ponies help overcome the overtaking worries normally associated with driving on the 'wrong' side of the road.

that's my 2ps' worth

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.

There's an interseting story about RHD M3's in Ireland, back in 1990 the Irish Rally Championship was fought out between Austin McHale and the late Bertie Fisher, Bertie won the crown but both drivers were at the wheel of RHD E30 M3's, Bertie's car was originally the 1987 Tour de Corse winning car which was driven by Frenchman Bernard Beguin in LHD form ( not many people remember that the M3 won a WRC round ) The car is still in Ireland, now owned by Dennis Cronin and still driven in serious competition, just goes to show, if a budget is thrown at one of these cars then they can be good even in RHD, if you want to see a photo of this car, try this link:

http://www.rallygallery.com/

Click on Killarney Rally of the Lakes main rally images, the car is now back in it's original Rothmans colours.

None of this has any bearing on road cars of course, I live in the north west of England and drive a LHD M3, I have had no problems adapting since I got the car late last year, LHD - Go for it!  Either that or get Prodrive to do you a conversion ££££!!!
