..ouch !

Jon.. that's just not true.

When you say "the club"... we are 'the club' .. I can't remember the last time I met a stuffy 'suit' at one of our trackdays.

The last Donnington I did with 'the club' was on a very rainy day..

.. sideways out of Redgate and flat through Craner and oh my gawd round the old hairpin... Waddo still passed me up the hill.. all on regular tyres with a circuit to ourselves while the guys on sticky's waited for the rain to stop.

.. boy I wish I had still got that car.

Doc was with me on that lap...  and I guess Jesus must have been as well !

.. Tally Ho.

Nick,I agree with you,we the membership are the club and that is exactly the reason why we (the members)should have been given some indication that sweeping rule changes were about to be made that would effect our expenditure for the forth comming year, hell don`t we have a club rag and this forum.

This rule change is a farce. The explainations that have been made have no substance whatsoever. Please tell me what it will achieve? The loss of the hardcore membership that turn up regularly at the club run trackdays that have helped make them the success they are today, and that`s about all.It may slow a few people down, but don`t try to kid anyone it will be safer. An arse hole is an arse hole weather he has road tyres or SLICKS ,as we both know.

  Just my opion,Cheers Jon

ps you are doing a great job at croft, shame I`m to far south, keep it up.

Yeah Nick, I remember that lap. Flaming Hell it's hairy there when the heavens open.

Well done for filling Croft in good time. Can't wait.

I am a late starter on this particular thread, but am I reading this correctly that modified cars will also be not allowed the club's track/better driving days in the future.

Also if I had a Lotus Elise 135R or a Mitsubishi Evo8 FQ 300 I take it that I would not be allowed on track even though these tyres are OE fit!

my 2p!!

I meant to add R copmpound tyres when referring to the Elise and the FQ 300.

Does this also mean that the E46 M3 CSL with the option of sticky Michelin tyres that you have to sign a disclaimer to have put on your car as original equipment will also be banned from the clubs days.

I think now that more car manufacturers are producing track orientated cars with R tyres as original equipment. So where do these people stand if they want to attend the club's days if they are members of the club.

Good point!
you would be welcome at Croft in any of the cars you mention and I would love to see an E46 CSL with the optional tyres.

Nick,

I wish the engine was back in my car as I would have probably come up to croft for the blast!! but sadly the engine's been in and out of the car in the last few weeks more than I've had hot dinners!! and it needs about 1,200 miles running in.

I Hope your day goes well and all enjoy a day run for the real enthusiasts and not just for the pipe and slipper brigade

Sorry couldn't help it
