Speedo not operating

   hello All.

I own a 1989 [F] 530i se. The digital speedo isn't working but the rest of the dash is fine.

I suspect the previous owner may have disconnected it or tampered with it. Any quick checks I can do to isolate the problem?

If not any suggestions of a reliable mechanic in the Sussex area...

	Check the connections at the rear diff. Common on E34 and E30 usual corroded pins only, therefore easy fix.
