Mine is a coupe, just to get it right!  And yes traction control can be turned off (as it was all saturday) and some don't even have it as an option (Mcoupe).

The problem you might have is that the coupe was only sold with the S50 (287hp up to 2000 I think ) and S54 (321hp) in right hand drive. On the mainland we had it with 2.8L and then 3.0L (231hp).

Brave man!
I was tempted to switch off ASC on mine on saturday as it was a pain when it kicked in on a bend but after hearing about the M3 that was damaged after turning it off I decided that I did want to drive home unscathed!

I know, the thought kind of it me too, but we don't play with the same amount of power so I reckoned It's not as dangerous. Also, I hade grippy tires on the back (F1's) and not so grippy on the front (P6000) so it was more often the case of the back pushing the front wide than the back stepping out, although I had a couple of nice and control power slide (especially out of turn 3 and 4! )

Actually how did your tyres fare? Mine weren't too bad but I reckon I still stole a few months off them!

Thought I'd better add to the topic since I was the subject of some discussion earlier

I still have the car and have decided not to sell it , I've had it off the road for winter but it will be back in use as of Thursday (I'm waiting for a new battery on order from BMW)

If anyone has any Z3 questions then don't hesitate to drop me a PM or take a look at my website

Hopefully I'll make it to a few events this year, couldn't manage Mondello since we were in the process of moving house.

Cheers

Jon
