I could not agree more. Bitter experience has taught me that replicas are simply not up to the job. I bought a set of Alpina reps for my E34 M5 - they lasted less than a month before 3 out of 4 buckled. The retailer did not want to know, claiming that I had hit a pothole damaging the rims and so he was not responsible. (How you buckle 3 out of 4 wheels in a pothole he could not explain). I ended up replacing them with original M5 alloys and had to chalk it up to (expensive) experience.

I would also be wary of buying second hand - it is almost impossible to tell if they have been damaged and do you want an alloy falling to bits at 80 on the motorway?

If you do get them, make sure you get decent tyres tho, not just the standard cheapies they often bundle.

I agree.

Too much car you've got there to entrust on some iffy rims

A bit risky me thinks bud!!!

If you were getting LMs then personally, I'd stick with them.  Best rims ever

ACS Type 3 reps are what the kids on "a forum" were all getting over-excited about a couple of months ago.  Then M-Parallel reps.  Now LM reps I think.  I lose track of what's "in" this week...

If your current rims are clean with good tyres, then they're worth £400 easily, maybe £500.  That'll go a long way towards a set of reps.

ACS Type III's are my favourite rim.

But those are the copies, and that often means a lesser quality alloy is used.

If you do get them, make sure you get decent tyres tho, not just the standard cheapies they often bundle.

Otherwise you could soon be coming into close contact with ditches and central reservations before you know it, (especially in this weather weve been having lately) - cant afford not to considering its an M3 thats running them.

I had put a deposit down with a fairly well know alloy wheel seller about 2
months ago now and still no show on my BBs rims. So i've decided to put
the money to better use and and spend alittle less on some new rims so:

The car is a m3 evo cab

Been looking on Ebay at the AC type 3 style alloy rims:

The problem is i have enough to buy these rims but it will mean selling
my old rims to fund new rubbers (lol)

what do you think?
