The rear demister does not work on my touring, the fuse is fine. The car also has a/c. Sometimes i can switch the a/c on and othertimes i cannot. Is it linked into the rear demister as ther are located in the same panel. What i'm trying to say is behind the dash do they go through the same relay or something linking them? I hope that explains it well enough.

Probably find the wire has broken on the passenger side at the tailgate pivot. Very common issue. BMW do a repair loom buts its over £100. Alternatively you can try a repair.

There should be another fuse under the rear seat!

Jay

What was wrong and needed fixing? I haven't looked at mine yet, just replaced the steering column as the ignition barrel failed and had to break the lock off, IN THE MIDDLE OF BATHGATE (drills and all and no-one questioned me!) £50 from FAB for everything including the stalks to replace. Just ordered the barrel from BMW and said that the discount was not applicable because it was a security part.

Repaired the wiring and it now works, just need to sort the a/c and the fact the temp is at a constant deg regardless of where the dial is at. Is this the valves and if so where are they located to get at?
