My car has today been declared a write off!

Last week I hit a patch of slippery road/ice and went through a wooden fence and into a hedge. Like I say I was only doing 20/25MPH and was just pulling away from some traffic lights at a canal bridge. But there was absolutely NO grip on the road so the impact happened really slowly. I could not back the car out so called the RAC who pulled me out.

There didn't seem to be much damage apart from the front bumper, wing mirrors popped off and a pipe hanging from the radiator. But the insurers are going to review the assesors report and make me an offer.
While waiting for the tow truck the police and paramedics turned up to see that I was ok and I found out that a Clio was on it's side about a mile down the road-I was lucky.

I will never go down that road again, a lot of dump trucks now use that road and it is getting more slippery by the day.
By the way the policeman said that the council should have been out gritting the night before but didn't bother because it was rainning.
