Cabin heat is just on hot e34

   I have an E34 520i se 1996. The heating is just on constantly hot, regardless where the dial is set at. Is this the thermostate? if so what tests can be done? It happened on a 12v i had but the layout is different. I can get cold air out the centre vents when adjusting the air to cold on the dial between the vents.

Also the air/con and recycle lights work sometimes. The rear demister light has also gone. Any tips. I know the aircon may need recharging.
