Some good news

They gave me a New 6230 this afternoon after I contacted their customer services dept and threatened them with trading standards and informed them that I was a member of several online forums(on of them being Which Online).

They also gave us a £20 voucher as a way of apology.

Simon,  you are far too nice--which is WHY you and thousands+++ of other consumers , are treated with utter contempt.

The phone was not fit for the purpose it was purchased for-Full Stop.so you request your cash back in writing to shop, and pop down to the small claims court, and get a summons , and then serve it on manager, with witness present, a Camera is also a good idea.

Your claim will include 7 weeks loss of use @ £7 per day + £1750 for loss of Biz , as your callout service could Not operate, + expense,s for your visits to the shop, + phone calls , + frustration @ £500.

IF----more consumers did this, WE would not have to put up with DSG and their idea of service, even when service contracts are taken out with them , and they think they are doing YOU a favour , by giving a Non service.

WE get the Service WE accept!!!!!!

You should have T's&C's of Warranty written down somewhere, this is a contractual agreement with you set out by DSG.

You have a case for trading standards there my old son. May be worth giving them a ring, or at least tell the manager of the store that your going to be informing them of the issue, may spark a rocket to ignite in his rectum and set about getting you sorted.

The link is part of DSG retail which incorporates Currys Dixons, PC World and Mastercare and in my opinion they are all C!*p !! I used to work for Currys and the management justr didn't seem to care and im not just talking about store level management .

I don't know which operator you are with but i'm with Orange and always deal direct with them and they will pick my phone up and exchange it for a new one if it goes faulty .....I would agree with Killian and try to get your money back cos that really takes the P!*s

Simon, from what I gather you have been out of a phone for over 7 weeks. You had an arrangement with the phone link shop. They let you down. They had said thet you would have it back on several occasions and they never did. I would insist on getting my money back (including any rental paid out during this period)!

Sounds about right, I had problem with an old 7110 sliding matrix type phone, mastercare were uselss they said I had to pay for repair as it wasnt covered by warrenty, saying my phone was water damaged, utter rubbish..

Upgraded to a newer phone in the end, exchanging 'damaged' one. (The problem with the 7110 matrix phone was a faulty chip, should have rung Jayson.. he could have re-mapped it )

We bought a Nokia 6230 Phone from them and after 10 weeks it went faulty(refused to switch on). So we took it back to the shop and were told that it would have to go in for repair and I would be ready in 2 weeks.

2 weeks passed and we checked with the shop to see if it was ready they phoned the repairers(Mastercare) to check, and were told that they couldn't fix it and had sent it back to Nokia. At this stage the manager told us that if it hadn't come back within 28 days of us returning the phone to them the they would give us a new replacement.

The 28 days passed and we returned to the shop and spoke to the manager who told us to return the next day as they could only replace the phone on the 29th day.

The following day we returned to collect the phone. We spoke to the manager again and he informed us that the replacement had to come from Mastercare and we would have to contact them.

So we phoned Mastercare and the stated that the replacement would have to be supplied by the Link store as they didn't receive the phone for repair until 8 days after we handed the phone into the Link store.

So we contacted the manager of the link store and he said that he would sort it out, a few hours later we got a call from the manager of the store saying that the phone will be ready to collect from the store on Wednesday(it was now Friday).

We phoned the store today(Wednesday) to check if the phone was ready, only to be told that it would be Friday now at the best before they would have the phone in!!!.

By this point we were getting very pi**ed off. so we called mastercare to check whether they had sent the phone off yet, only to be told that the Link store would have to provide the replacement and that they had no records on the computer about a request from the Link store for a replacement phone for us!!!

We phoned the store manager again to inform him of what Mastercare had said. He told us that he would contact them and phone us back to let us know the outcome(that was at 10.30am and it is now 4.10pm and no phone call back yet!!!)

I don't know if any one else has had problems with the Link but they have lost us as customers over this(we have bought 8 phones from them in the last 2 Years)

Rant over

Simon
