I'm not a legal bod, but if you draw a blank elsewhere, the CAB is always worth a go.

Hope you get your problem sorted out, anyway

cheers

the c,a,b are about as usefull as a chocolate teapot unfortunatly . trading standards dont deal with maritime law issues  and health and safety are only there to make workplaces safe for employees .

basicly i had work done on my boat which when finished could have cost my family their lives ,  also generally sloppy workmanship  bolts missing or not tightened etc etc  . and it simply doesnt work anymore .

Dont know where abouts in the UK you are but the cops may take it on board (pardon the pun). If it was a bad as you say, there may be criminal charges in it somewhere.

Just remembered that Strathclyde Police (premier force) have a marine unit and they may be able to give some assistance. Dont have a contact number to hand but if you pm me i could try and get one.

thanx chaps

how about this    "the police wont get involved in matters concerning quality issues , if the quality issues had gone un noticed  and cost you the lives of your family members then we would obviously look into the matter"       thats the statement i got from our wonderfull police force .

basicly i have now spent another £90 on a 2 hour meeting with my solicitor and the best plan he can come up with is to take this scum bag to county court and hope he is decent enuff to pay the amount i get awarded ( you are not legally forced to pay the compensation a county court awards another party)

looks like its gna be the old fashioned way of doing buisness again. and all because this country gives its consumers no protection and makes it possible for these ***** to operate with no fear of retribution or financial loss , in other words  they are legally allowed to rip people off left right and centre . NOT THIS TIME MO FO

thank you all for bothering to read  this and especially those of you that have tried to think of or find a way to help us .

Thats good of them! Wonder what press they would get if something tragic was to happen and it was found out that they refused to get involved?
