This will be an interesting to watch as both Williams and Button believe it to be a done deal as the option BAR had on him has expired but BAR think they took up the option.

If JB does move to be alongside MW I think that will be an extremely strong driver line up. All Williams-BMW need to do is give them a strong car.

I think it will be a mistake if Button does go to Williams, seeing as how BAR actually have a better car and are more likely to be able to give him a shot at the championship.

Looking forward to next season, if Williams/ BMW can come upwith a good package, Messers Button and Weber are in with a good shout.

Both have talent and aren't affraid to have a go, and in the right car watch out Mr shooooomacher/ Ferrari, bring on F1 2005

Went on a visit to Jordon factory yesterday and everyone there was talking about it, no one could belive the news (total shock), apparenty there was a loop hole in Jensons contract that said if Honda hadn't comitted to an engine  deal by a certain date Jens was free to move, Honda didn't commit until after the said date so his management approached Frank.

I see also that Mika Hakkinen may come back and fill Jensons seat at BAR.

Would be good to see Mika back in the saddle again, he is a real character, might brighten things up alot...and he ain't a bad pilot either, given decent equipment to work with.

Well, we have the F1 BMW/Williams 37ft racing yacht down here for Cowes Week, she is out at the moment and all the F1 team are over too for a corporate weekend shindig seeing as there isn't a GP race this weekend.  Anyone who is anyone in the BMW/Williams team is in Cowes, and the drivers too apparently.  Nice weekend off for them all.

The BMW/Williams yacht isn't the only F1 team yacht over here, the bigger teams all have them and they are all here mixing with the rest of the racers....just a pity there isn't enough wind to start racing yet so we have an indefinate postponement at the moment.

Do you not find it a bit sad that we are talking about next season already even though there a still quite a few races left this season. Given Williams performance so far there is no reason to suspect that they will be anymore competetive next season.

Still think Jenson has made the wrong decision. Also BAR deserved a little bit more loyalty than that.

I agree with Peter 100%, Jenson did the dirty on BAR by signing with Williams without discussing it openly with his current team and by notifying them by fax and waiting a few days to openly talk to them.

Furthermore, as Mr. Ecclestone says, it may come around to haunt him as the get-out clause in his contract (to do with BAR securing a Honda deal by a certain date) may not be 100% legal and is currently subject to scrutiny by the contracts board. Bernie even suggests that it may result in JB not driving next year if he loses his superlicence (needed for driving in F1). I wonder though, how much effort BAR will put behind JB for the remainder of the season if he is in the right.

However, as for discussing next year, why not? This year is all sown up with Ferrari going to take the two titles unless some kind of miracle happens!

I'm not saying we should't be talking about next season, I was just commenting that it's a bit sad, in that it's a reflection on how uncompetetive the other teams have been in relation to Ferrari and Schumacher.

ha ha ha - as they say, you should look before you leap!
CRB rules that Button belongs to BAR in 2005
According to a BAR press release the Board ruled on Tuesday that Button's contract with BAR is the "only valid contract registered for the 2005 season."

It wouldn't supprise me if Button ends up without a drive in 2005, or even for the rest of 2004 season. Plonker!!c
