what about going for everything bog standard....lettering, white background etc, but just getting the white bckgrnd in a honeycomb style? I've been told, not sure if its true that the honeycomb pattern plays havoc with speed cameras??????

I was chatting to a fella from donegal before who had kind of hologram plates - he paid 60 eurons for them but apparently they cannot be seen by the cameras.
Doesn't stop an unmarked car pulling you over though! |

It was the silver shadow effect on mine that got me all the attention www.maxem.ie/plate.jpg I imagine that if you can photograph the plate from a distance an angle with a regular camera and see the plate then I dont see how the speed cameras would miss it. Thought I saw one of the car shows or magazine testing a load of the options on plates and not one of them had any effect butthat was a while back. Anyway I'm on bog standard fully compliant plates now |

Sounds like someone's bullin' there! If it can show up on ordinary flash photography, you can bet your last Euro that it'll show up on the Gatso... I reckon the standard pressed-aluminium plate is much more durable than the acrylic/plastic ones, but cannot find a supplier who will press me one with a yellow background.... Edited by Horsetan |

As long as you conform to the standards re: size and visibility / clarity of characters, I see no massive problem about being proud of where you come from (or, indeed, where you would want to be) |
