Mine was a 65 HA viva, bought in 77 for £25.

It had crossply tyres, and I painted the bonnet mat black....yeah...so cool...bet your all jealous now !

It was the deluxe model.....which meant it had a heater !

Best Wishes

Mine was a '76 Gold Hillman Imp. Excellent car to learn to drive in.

This led onto Imp powered kit cars (one of which I still own) a Maserati, and finally the 540.

I think I can safely say without fear of contradiction, that the BMW is one of the best engineered and best built cars you can own.

You bet! I didn't know how rusty it was until I had a crash. All the front pannels were rusting from the inside out.  Big Smile

as I recall, it was abot £1200 tpft so I was paying about £110 / month. Living at home and not paying any rent this was expensive but ok. Took me 4 months to 'see the light' and go german, after this (barring the skoda) it has been BM, VW & Merc all the way! never had the joy of metro tho'.....
