--> HELP: I have had 2 wheels stolen from my M3, TWICE(!!!).

The second time I had even installed the recommended AC Schnitzer locking wheel bolts, but they didn't seem to help. I now have two sets of Schnitzers, but am still worried.

The guys are obviously professionals. They come in the middle of the night on a weekday and steal the offside 2 wheels from the car (19" alloys, M3 E46) from right outside my house. They must not take more than a couple of minutes, since the road does have some traffic, even at night. I also live in a "very respectable neighbourhood" in London.

If anyone has any bright ideas (e.g. better locking bolts/nuts, wheel clamps, alarm systems, explosives, whatever...) I'd really appreciate the input.

Apparently this happens quite a bit (especially with 19" M3 wheels).

Thanks.

If they're pros, they'll always get your wheels :-(

Try locking nuts NOT normally associated with BMW.

Try an alarm with a proximity function from the likes of Clifford.

If all else fails do what I did and move to a house with a garage!

Yeah I'm sure Clifford do an accessory sensor which sets the sirens off if it senses any tilt in the car such as it being jacked up.

Personally speaking I'd put various locknuts on each wheel, make it as fiddly and time consuming as possible for them so at least they see that it will take them a long time to steal and they might not bother. Dont bother using the locknuts that have little keys, I have seen those removed with just 3 taps of a chisel.

I also live in what is supposedly a posh part of london and have had my cars broken into regularly, doesnt matter where you live it will always happen.   Even if you catch them and give them a good beating, it will probably be you that Police will prosecute.

Tumppi

Clifford do a tilt and motion sensor, I've got it fitted to mine and have had no trouble, touch wood.

btw I live in s***hole of a place and the cars managed to last 6 mths untouched, mind you I've not slept in all that time. so as simplyred says you can stay in the most upmarket area and you'll still get your car nicked or damaged.

Now thinking about it maybe you should move to a sh***y area like myself cause the thieving B******s never do it on their own doorstep.
