    Posted: 13-June-2004 at 23:28

Just been out in my E36 M3 saloon and the check light started flashing on the dashboard and the check control said 'Brake light circuit'. I checked the brake lights and both are working! I switched the ignition off then restarted the car and the check light went out, started driving and as soon as i touched the brake pedal the check light came on again.

What does this mean ?

Mine used to do this all of the time. It turned out to be a faullty brake pedal switch so probabl;y worth checking that.

Was this in your E30?

The reason I ask is that very infreqently my brake light warning on the check control crys wolf from time to time. I have always put it down to the third high level light that was fitted to it when I bought it.

that may be the case with yours but it didnt work with mine , which is why i disconnected it , once the check controll unit is disconnected  it will also stop all the other warning lights ,buzzers , sirens , strobes  machine guns and laser guided misiles from going off in the car aswell .
