I wish she was looking as fine now..... She's very dirty, is carrying a lot more stone chips and three dents due to F***wits at work that can't park

Still brings a smile to my face when I see her though!

As much as i love the E34 and more so the M5 i still cant shake the out of place feeling looking at the M5's with the different coloured bottom part of the M-Tech kit. It kind of makes the car try to be a two tone but not quite pull it off that well.

That aside Derek thats a very lovely example, shame about insensitive people.

The 'Shadowline' trim was IIRC a no cost deletion - as was the boot spoiler & debadging - at time of purchase so you do occasionally see a one tone example

Looking good Derek M5.
very nice in black, suits the car down to a tee.

never seen them with the shadowline trim, so good to see and thanks for the info on it.

know what you mean about people in the work car park.
some damn fool has put loads of little scratches up the drivers side of mine.
cant believe people are so careless when it comes to colleagues cars.

ive got a pic of mine i could put up, but its from when i just got it, so doesnt have any of the new bits on.
plus it doesnt look as nice as most of the ones ive seen on here so id be a bit embarrased.

Here is a picture of my old M5 when i first got it, it had 4 broken headlights, broken foglights and very dirty/kerbed wheels.

Well as I've finally taken some pictures of my E34 I thought I'd better put them up here.  At the moment the car's pretty much an original 1995 525i SE except for the wheels, I'm planning on a few modifications with the lights though, going to put in clear indicators and a new set of headlights as the set on there at the moment are badly chipped and the n/s full beam develops a small pond inside every time it rains, contemplating putting some goldfish in there  (joke!)

Paul.

I know theyre not a patch on the superb examples on this forum, but heres some pics of mine. Was in a terrible state when i got it, but have done all the work myself (helps to be a mechanic sometimes!), including a few subtle but hidden mods, and a couple of surprises.

Thanks Russ

So Ian, any chance you might divulge what some of the interesting mods are to your car?  I can't see anything too obvious under the bonnet....

Paul.

Engine has had a bit of work,

Comp ratio up to 10.1:1 from 9.4:1

Crank and rods strengthened

Cam changed

Head been reworked and ported

Larger valves

Oil cooler plumbed in

Running separate fuel and ignition ECUs

Headlamps altered to show 4 dip beams or 4 main beams

Car is extremely docile and smooth around town but changes character when it hits 3500rpm when all hell breaks loose. Power output is now up to 202 and that is only 11hp down on the 34-6K-B engined 535 and 5 more than the 525s
