yes, it will only work in diesels. And you need to add a bit of normal diesel to it to keep sulphur levels up or you'll wear out the pump. Paraffin and jet-A1 or AvTur  are both cheap and will also work quite well. And if it was me, i wouldn't pay the duty on it, don't be silly ;) The red in red diesel used to be filtereable-outable using bread, if this still works i don't know.

i had fun playing with the pump timing on our Transit today - too retarded and it won't even start. it's quite critical.

A mat (who works in a garage, so has access to big filters and drums etc.) has been using chippy oil in his works van for ages, says it works perfectly. And it smells like a chippy as well. If you use oil from an Indian takaway apparently it smells like your cars running on curry (I wonder if a vindaloo will make it run faster, it does me...).
Thing is how many people who are doing this are paying the duty??

 Having to undo someone else's attempt at bodywork repair on inaccessible parts of the car.... 

And its too ****** warm today...the hardner keeps going hard too soon   lol

According to Radio two today, unleaded was about 90p per litre in Inverness, but some "scoundrel" was charging 1.09 a litre in Blackpool !
