My fish are spoilt rotten...

How many directions can this thread take? I too used to be a keeper of the aquarium. Find the best (and cheapest - possibly making it the best cos im scottish) thing for cleaning filters and other fish ornaments is to steep them in very hot water with a few sterilising tablets in them. Hope this post is a good public service.

It was desperation Kenny that drove me to the bottles of booze...

Couldn't stand by and let the fish run out of air so I sacrificed the booze...never again though, it will be sterilised in cheaper methods in future...thanx for the extra option Kenny, much appreciated

Salt also makes a good steralising agent, and can also be used as an anesthetic (plus a teespoon added to a tank can cut down on fungus attacks)

Yes, complains that no one is talking and then does a runner himself. Maybe it was a dodgy curry for tea.

Did anyone else get woken up by the violent thunderstorm at 0450 this morning?

30 minutes of absolute hell broke loose, heavy rain, hail, high winds, thunderbolts and fork lightning.

Thought the roof would be gone by the time I got up, but no, fortunately the roof remained intact...however....

80ft of the wall dividing the chalets from the sea plus the 6ft wide concrete walkway behind the wall has now fallen into the sea.  My section of the wall is still standing but is severely damaged and is likely to go within the next few days if this weather keeps up.

Rang the council who were as helpful as ever, despite the walkway being a listed public footpath, they have yet to arrive and fence it all off.  The grass area now has huge broken slabs of concrete and an 8ft drop at the end of it.

And we haven't even got into the real winter storms yet....looking very promising...not

Oh well, that time of night again (the dark bit before my alarm goes off.. too early..)

little job to do in morning.. (oh please, filthy minded lot )
then its clear the old (Citroen Relay) van out time, as its spewing water inside form the heater matrix, so its going. Picking up a newish Tranny on Thurs (well my mate is anyway)

White van man strikes again...

Be back tommorrow, hopefully when theres a bit more life in the place.
