Trouble is, we spend too many hours under our German ladies.........

Speaking as someone who has just replaced the auto gearbox oil pickup filter on the 540. Had to do it on the drive yesterday, never got so wet in one day jacking the car up !!

I used 7 litres of oil (it wasn't a total drain). Got the oil from a lubricant specialist, just glad I didn't buy it from the stealer (comes out at around £17.50 a litre GULP !!).

Hands stink of synthetic gearbox oil, but they are very smooth !!

Its getting very plain on this thread that the oats are well used....

What confuses me (which isn't difficult) is where the association is with BMW owners getting it more and horses....

If you refer carefully back into recent postings, you will find that Killian lit the spark, with his remark about oats. After that, it was downhill all the way....
