What are these marketing bozzo's on - one of the most annoying car ads on TV at the mo has to be the Vauxhall Meriva & Zafira ad - the one with the 2 most obnoxious kids in the world on it And who in their right mind would buy a Meriva? I had the unfortunate pleasure of having one as a hire car in dublin and its like driving a wardrobe on trolley wheels - ARGH!! "I had 5 in mine lask week..... we had 7 in mine and I'm still finding the crumbs.." SHUT UP! SHUT UP NOW YOU LITTLE *********!! any others you can think of - or is it just me? |

When it comes to car adverts by far the worst are those stupid Mazda ones. Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to use that stupid zoom zoom jingle.

A friend who recently made 'the mistake' (his words) of buying a Mazda 6 was confused when I asked him if he'd found the toy that comes with all new Mazdas these days..... According to the ad, There's a little sportscar in all of them |

I get extremely annoyed about road safety adverts, which might seem rather odd. However, they always portray the car as the villain of the piece.
How about an advert for road safety where a kids walks out in the middle of a busy road, not at a designated crossing, between parked cars, without looking and then gets run over? Oh hang on, we have one, but it doesn't suggest that that the child deserves a thorough hiding for crossing the road in a dangerous spot without looking, all it does is say "bad driver, you were going too fast". I don't for one second advocate speeding in built up areas, but isn't there a shared responsibility for road safety? Or is everything down to the car driver? Here endeth the rant. |

Spokey, it would seem that we have got to the point where all 'civilians' have been absolved of any responsibility for their actions - old lady sues McDonalds for 26 million after tipping her coffee over her lap while driving... So instead of being charged with reckless driving she was only awarded 2.6 million because she hadn't expected the coffee to be hot? She'd have probaly crashed the car trying to pull a u-turn if it had been cold! People who according to Darwin shouldn't really have made it here at all are making it big time. "Had an accident or injury that wasn't your fault?" Sound familiar? In the end the increased cost relating to all of the lawyers and insurance hikes end up being passed onto us. By protecting them from their own stupidity we are protecting oursleves from their rapacious lawyers. Somewhere out there is a post regarding Advanced Driver Training, it's worth doing just to protect you & the muppets, from the muppets. |

Oooh! Oooh! Yes, definitely! Wogan had a comment from a TOG about speaking Micra: "rugged and trusty = rusty", etc. My favourite was definitely "shiny and bright"... |

he's right, whoever thought up the "do you speak micra" ads should be fed his own kidneys, or worse, forced to drive a micra.

It's slightly off topic, but can anyone watch the Directline mortgage advert without wanting to strangle that stupid ***** who says "Don't listen to him"...?

To be honest I find most adverts really irritating. It's not that they are all bad, it's just that you see them so many times that after a while even the good ones start to do your head in. I tend to hit the mute button when they come on. The trouble is that on sky all the add breaks are syncronised so you can't avoid them by channel hopping. ".....you want an interest only tracker like ours" It makes me want to pick up an axe and hack them all into little pieces! |

I like the Esure adverts with Micheal Winner. He says 'I'm really a very good driver.' Surely he should have said 'I'm really a very bad actor' Just a thought! Pikey Edited by PikeyM3 |

Hmmm, most annoying TV advert has to be the "We are saving" one from Halifax!! However, the most annoying advert ever, is the Ocado advert on the radio! "The Ocado, be more demanding... ...Challenge"!!! I dunno about u guys, but bad adverts put me off of buying things! I would rather starve than have something delivered by Ocado!

How about these two for stupid ads:
1. The Hyundai one "There's no weak link in our chain". I didn't think you could make a chain out of plastic! 2. The new Citroen Xsara Piccaso, 100bhp Hdi with OVERBOOST!! Firstly 110bhp, that's about the same as a frige-freezer - Nothing to be bragged about! Secondly, it is an MPV, "Overboost" makes it sound like a Max Power feature car! Maybe they are aiming for the Teanage families?? James |
