     Hi Everyone,

Jacqui here, the new Chairman of the Wessex Region (for my sins!!!), finally got round to registering on the forum! As you all know we have recently put together our new committee and are doing all we can to put on some good events this summer, Tristan is doing sterling work and has already organised 2 events that look fantastic (Bealieau and Castlecombe). There are some things I would really appreciate feedback on so we as a committee can reflect what you guys enjoy in our events list. Firstly, pub meets, we plan to have a pub meet every first thursday in the month, located at various pubs around the region, the next being at The Halfway Bridge in Petworth 0n June 3rd,7.30pm, does this sound good, ideas welcome! I have always found pub meets a great oppurtunity to meet other members and of course in the summer a great chance to see some fantastic cars! The landlord of the Halfway Bridge has asked for a rough idea of numbers so could you plaese let me know if you would like to come.

The Wessex committee of last year had a joint Dinner Dance with the Motorcycle club in January this year, I have been approached by the MCC to ask if our region would be interested in doing it again next year, the evening consisted of a three course meal followed by a danceband, the cost was £25 per head. The planned date is 29th January 2005. Could you send me your thoughts on this, would anyone like to go to this type of event? It would be good to give the MCC our support as they have kindly invited us along to their track day on June 12th. On that subject  I need to know how many of you plan to come on that day, my local dealer has offered to bring down a couple of cars (any request? the new 6 maybe!) to view only, and if enough people come it would be good to organise a display of cars, Goodwood is always a relaxed day out and there are still some track tickets available for cars.

Looking forward to lots of replies!!

 Thanks

Jacqui

Welcome to the forum and as I said the last time I saw you Congrats on the chairpersonship.

I know Melvyn intends to go to Goodwood as its been added to our calender, I am hoping to attend as well, another saturday off work my boss will not be pleased  Glen, Pauline and Selwyn possible too.

I have already posted to Tristan that Beaulieu is a possibility for me as well.

The pub meet at Petworth sounds good so put me down for that one, might even be able to talk Sarah into coming along too.

Dont look for the Dark Blue Z though its goes this weekend, will be in a silver one instead.

We would love to support the Pub meet and Goodwood but we are on holiday.

So Beaulieu in July will be our next opportunity to support the region.

Good Luck

Made a bit of a mistake (oops!!) Our next pub meet is actually on the 19th May @ The Sir Walter Tyrell in the new forest... (As advertised in the car club mag), this is always a good one so please give all the support you can. Our secretary Mark Roberts is the contact if anyone needs more details mark@car-club.com.

I'll be there from 7:30 onwards, may be earlier if the sun is still out!

Do you remember how to find the place? it's a bit in the middle of no-where!

Hello, I have just bought a 3.0 CSL and I live in Port Solent north of Portsmouth. I was wondering when & where the next nearest regional meeting will be?

Best Regards

Unfortunately my 635 CSi E28 won't be on the road by then, so will have to miss this occasion.  However she will be at Beaulieu, so shall look forward to meeting some of you then

Sorry but work has just got in the way of this so we will have to wait until July to meet with you all.

It looks like the weather will be great. Hope you all have a good time

Mark,

Thanks for the kind words. It is now looking like 50/50 if we can make it. We might be able make it a bit later but we're not sure what time everybody would be sitting down to eat. Anyway all will become clear are 5pm today.

Phew we made it and are very glad we did, very nice pub, good food and wonderful company.

As we turned up late I didn't get to count how many cars but it looked like about 15, which is good for a weekday evening. Am I even close Mark?

Glad you made it in the end! Fashionably late...

Lovely to meet you, your lovely lady and the '3

I can remember 14 cars, but didn't do an official count...

Note to myself, find a pub that does cheaper soft drinks...

Thanks to everyone who came, hope to meet more of you the Wessex region members through out this years events.
