Changing the subject a tad.
Anyone here own the Estoril blue E36 3.2 in Harlow (near blockbusters)?
If so, how do you keep it that clean. It looks like new.
Drive it like you stole it!

Driver without a doubt.
Would you drive one if it was the tyres or brakes though?

Hmmm, food for thought.
How good am I? Good.
Am I prepared for every scenario? No because no one can.
How good a pedestrian am I? Good, but a drunk driver could still mount the pavement & kill me.
I think Jackie Stewart had the best idea to reduce road accidents.
Place a 6 inch spike in the middle of everyones steering wheel. How many can say they would drive the same then?
I could.
I drive fast & yes it is risk, as the pc said, there are many elements that could go wrong, but I feel safe with my speed & have a track record to keep me confident so my throttle foot will stay down.
That's why I own an M3, not because it's expensive or a BMW or cool or comfy. Because it's fast & it handles.

Think its British Australians & Japanese who drive on left. Sweeden changed in the 60`s i think. Origionally it was the same as shaking hands, all to do with the right arm being the sword hand.

Thanks for your comment nigel, I think I am average as well & the sooner more people realise they are not invincable in their car the better. as far as I Iknow no manufacturer has fitted a force field to protect the driver in a crash, Metal has a nasty habit of bending when hit.

NO we are NOT

we are British, we drive on the LEFT, forever I hope, just to really stick two fingers up at the europeans.

Nigel i meant we drive cars for roads where they drive on the right. so we are sitting on the wrong side making it the right side if driving on the right. Hope this does not confuse even more as i have had to read through it a few times to make sure it's correct.

Dam good point peter, I'm average in answer to your question.

The main reason, in my opinion that the standard of driving is getting so low.......is.......speed cameras !!!!!

It is getting so rare to actually see a police patrol car on a motorway now, people will be taking pictures soon, to prove there has been one that week.

Love them, or loathe them, police patrols soon sort out the bad drivers.

Best Wishes

Nigel

So - Who are the people who consider themselves bad or average drivers ?, try a poll & most well say they are good or above average, nobody can honestly say that whatever the speed they are doing that they are prepared for ANY POSSIBLE SENARIO

As some of you have already admitted another driver has done something that you did not expect, in most cases involving high speed

Last year i was travelling north in the nearside lane. No other traffic, the road was dead.

Ahead a solitary car in the 3rd lane, secong overtaking lane out of 4 lanes. Is it or would it have been more dangerous to overtake as you would get closer to this car or to undertake?

I thought 'undertaking' and 'going faster in a lane to the left of the car passed' were 2 different things...

In the situation you describe, I see no problem with continuing at your chosen speed in what was the correct lane.

Carrying on from this but from a different location, I had someone waving frantically at me on the A120 from Bishops Stortford to Colchester, they were heading towards Bishops Stortford, flashing like they were on a satellite holiday rep programme!

Who were you and was it you, or meant for you?

(They were in a small peugeot 106 sized thing)
