I haven't booked the tunnel yet, but have booked accomodation - couldn't get into Haus Marvin as they are full up. I'm staying just along the road at her mum's place - Pension Diana.

I was going to book the 0800 train (or the nearest time to 8am) on the Friday morning (25/6/04)

8 a.m. Friday Tunnel is my plan. Not booked it yet, but Haus Marvin is booked and I'm seriously considering the driving school for the Saturday.

Can anyone give me a rough idea of what this trip costs in total?
You know, ferry, room, fuel etc etc.

Its the first time I've read about it and would be interested, funds permitting. I missed Rockingham as I had only just picked up my M3 and the sight of all those M3's would be a beautiful thing!

Read this link Mags, and then go to the home page. It covers just about everything you need to know.Bens Nurburgring site

You'll need to be quick to book a room for somewhere local .The Ring is open all weekend , and being summer means it will be very busy .

Toby , you have my e-mail if there's any info that needs to be sent.

All i'm gonna try to book for the same train, but even if we aren't able and book a slightly later time we should be able to get on the same train if we all meet before we get to the chunnel and turn up together. Managed to do this with Le Mans last year.

I don't know if you mean me, but I am coming. I'll go ahead now and book the 0758 train on the Friday.

I'm sure we can all meet up somewhere close by before joining the queue for the train.

Try this place for accomodation - that's where I am staying and just a few doors down from Haus Marvin:

Pension Diana, Tannenweg  5, D-56729 Herresbach-Dottingen, tel 00 49 26 91

email pension-diana@t-online.de

OK, It's me, I'm the one travelling with Jake, even though I'm called Alan and I'm from England - Funny how these things get lost in the telling! I've been having a laugh with Jake about this post today on the phone, for those of you who don't know Jake, well, all will be revealed when we meet at the tunnel.

I'm just waiting for Jake to 100% confirm the details, neither of us have been over to the Ring before so we'll be looking for pointers off you more experienced travellers.

Opps , sorry Alan. I must have been thinking of someone else when I went to type your name. Although Jake did say you were from Scotland .

As for pointers , all I can see is read Ben Lovejoys Nurburgring site at www.nurburgring.org.uk If you have any more questions after that , then just ask .

Will meet you all there, would have liked to join in the convoy on the way over as running together would be fun. However, my car is now based at the Ring, so I'll think of you lot droning through boring Belgium whilst I fly serenly overhead.
