barf,

I have heard of Alpina527 and his manifold + throttle body and I would love to try them. I have also been looking at the ECIS induction kit. However as I have just spent close to £1000 on new tyres and getting the suspension fixed I am going to have to wait a while before spending any more cash. Also my clutch is quite worn and before I go upping the power I think I will need to get a new one fitted.

Well Peter, i started with a milltek cat back exhaust, superchip and a green cotton air filter. Ive also fitted a E.C.I.S. induction cold air box and ducted cold air to it from a air collection scoop, mounted where the front fog used to be. At this stage, the motor was producing 208.5 bhp @5610 rpm, up from the factory figures of 193 bhp@ 5300 rpm. The extra power is liberated simply by fitting a big bore throttle body and a M50 inlet manifold! these two items are available from a nice chap called "Alpina 527" and can be contacted through the www.e36coupe.com forum. the power increase is quite dramatic to say the least and power is now upto 229.5 bhp @ 5860 rpm and the torque is upto 217 ft lb @ 5050 rpm. The proof was in the puddind at Rockingham BDD where i systematically passed every car i came upto, even "beating" a e46 M3 cab owner to the point where he's now looking to spend a fortune on suspension! I must say that my 328 sport is fitted with full Schnitzer suspension (non adjustable) which, in my opinion is probably the best kit you can buy. Some might argue that point!! Well now Peter, you Know as much as me now so get you wallet out and spend some cash. There is a full tech feature on the fitting of the induction kit in the latest issue of FAST ROAD & TRACK DAY MAGAZINE, which features my car ! Its not the best example on the plenet, but hey, were'nt BMW's meant to be driven (hard)

I hope that i have answered your question Peter, but if you have anymore queeries, just ask

 Best regards

 Barf

Barf,

What mods have you done to get the power increase?
