If you like I can lend you a crash hat for the day. I got a spare one. You are very welcome to use it. I will bring it along on the day.

I agree. If it's appreciative enough to be driven on the road, the circuit holds no fear... you go at your own pace, and work within your limits and that of the car. I drove back to Cork after the trackday and no issues. There'll be plenty of people to give advice and stuff. If you'd like to try it, try it! I would say that you should deffo apply for a passenger pass. It's great to get a feel for what it's about, and see what the likes of M3 & M5s can do when let off the leash. Having said that, someone in a 316 can teach you a few things too!

that 323i was fair nippy on the main straight Eamo! It took 3 laps & a bit of determined cornering through Dunlop for me to get the wholeshot on it down the straight(not that we were racing I stress). cool car.

I can't wait for April!

Hello IanH,

Thanks for the offer on the helmet, it would be great to get the loan of it for the track day.

Killian,

There is a discrepency between the postal address on the BDD application form and that on the club website. When I emailed the club office I was told the postal code on the website is the correct one. The form shows 'Wiltshire SN12 8SQ' while the website shows 'Wiltshire SN12 6WJ'.
You might want to check and update the application form if necessary.

I'm also new to the Club, joined last week, and hope to go to Mondello too. I'm sure after a few laps it will be second nature. Anyways, I dont intend thrashing my 523i, parts are too costly. What part of the country are you coming from ?.

Ones has telexed ones application form to Head Office, so looks like a capital time shall be had, old chaps !

YeeeeeeeeeeeHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Anyone heading from Cork direction and interested in heading in convoy, let me know nearer the time and we'll 10-4, rubber ducky etc etc (Must stress that I don't actually have a CB!)

as a by-note, & remembering that modified E36 had a man and woman team in the intermediate & beginner groups respectively, anyone broached getting their wifes or partners out on the circuit? My girlfriend loved it passengering, and seemed mad keen to go out herself the next meet, but has subsequently cooled down on the idea. Still, saves more tyres for me!

I dont think so, but if you want to meet up, give me a call at (0506) 24353 - work, (086) 0640881. I have an interest in all BMW's so maybe we could discuss. I actually live 2 miles the far side of Killeigh in the direction of Mountmellick, but work in the Government Offices in Tullamore.

Thats mad. Dont we share the same slip road. Are you in that weird shaped building behind us ?. When did you move in there ?. Like me, are you the only one in the office with an interest in cars ?. I'm a Higher Executive Officer, in Education, which is Middle Management and work with 7 women in our office. They only talk about family stuff, kids and nappies. Not my forte. I didn't see your car before, or maybe I was just in too much of a rush to get out of the place, ha ha.

Have you spent much time/money on your car since you bought it. How is she running ?. Is she standard or did you have it tuned ?. Is yours the 2.3 litre turbo model with approx 220bhp. I've heard they are more fun than the newer e36 and e46 models, and much lighter too. I put mine through the nct 2 months ago and it weighed in at 1590kg. She's very smooth and is punchy at moderate or high speeds, but slightly sluggish at very low speeds. I think most six pots are like that. I was more concerned about the torque than the bhp because sometimes I pull a trailer and Quad Bike, and need the extra power, and weight. That was my reason for choosing the 5 series over the 3 series.

So you are a Senior ICT Administrator. Sounds very impressive. Should I bow to you ( Ha Ha).
