to be invited to test drive these two pointless cars.
The 2 series............for people who want either a 1 series or a Mini but have too much money The 4 series...........for people who just don't realise its a 3 series and was created because some eejit at BMW ordered loads of 4 badges instead of 3's |

On a similar note when searching the Approved used cars pages on BMWs website for big petrol engined stuff like 535i and 550i etc. up pops a strap line that says 'cars you might be interested in' and it is always 520ds. Why on earth would someone think that you would be interested in a 4 pot DIEsel if you are looking at PETROL 6 and 8 cylinder turbo charged 300+bhp monsters?

I'm with you on that mate. Why follow Audi in that respect? Weren't BMW, at one point, market leaders and innovators?
I can't say i agree with the way its all gone but what i will say is this: "Take the badge off I.E. 4 or 2 (or whatever other poxy brand) and by god have they produced some nice equipment" |

M235i supposed to have better handling than M135i. Limited Slip Diff also to be available as dealer fit option but ? price. Almost the same size as E46 coupe; too small for those who like their 5s. Also don't do "BMW Individual" leather, paint etc for 1 or 2 series so far. Think Bavarian Money Works making a mistake using "M" badge so freely. 135i really a 1/2M IMHO. Agree they are just copying Audi, but the shareholders need to be kept happy and they are creating as many niche products as they can. Non enthusiasts won't be bothered and outnumber those of us who populate this forum/Pistonheads etc. 235i might be just the thing for doddery old pensioner like me however. Each to his own, I guess.

Had same invite from Menzies.
I quite like the look of the 2. New BM's generally underwhelm me for the money though. WTF makes up the price list. Ken Dodd?
