Croft'03 om Monday July 21st will be our eighth succesive annual summer trackday up at the Darlington circuit.

As 'friends' of the circuit, the BMWCC are allowed to use this circuit as we wish and we control all aspects of the day (they basically give us the keys and let us get on with it).

Last year for the first time, we ran an 'open' pit lane with drivers being able to come and go as they pleased without waiting for their little slot... it was so succesful we will do the same this time.

The cost is a modest £130, which gets you unlimited tracktime and any amount of expert tuition free of charge.

We cater for all types of car (not just MPower) and driver ability.

Lunch is not included in the price, but the local pub is very welcoming!

We usually have a little award ceremony with a prize for the driver of the day as decided by the Croft marshals.

The Sunday thing is just an idea at the moment, I need some feedback first to see if we could justify booking the place for two days rather than just the usual one.

Regards

Nick Wright

I forgot to mention that bookings and payments are handled by the club office team and you can pay by plastic over the telephone on 01225 709009 ... If you want to secure your place then it is adviseable to pay a deposit asap.

As yet (October '02) we have only committed ourselves to Monday July 21st. I shall only book Sunday 20th if I feel we have enough support.

Thanks for the interest,

Nick

Hi Nick. How's it going? I'm up for Croft again. I agree (as I told you at Croft this year) that the open pitlane was very successful. It takes the stress out of the day. You can drive for shorter periods and get proper rest and relaxation.

Is that your car in Circuit Driver? Did you know the guy was the editor of the magazine? I've been subscribing for a couple of years, and I was delighted to hear that the editor was getting an E30 M3. I'm sure that car was yours, am I right? Have you seen what he's done to it?.......Motec engine management...yummy. I wouldn't mind that.

By the way, you probably don't want to hear this, but I now have 2 M3s. I got a Sport Evo with all the track gear in it from a BMWCCGB member. It is fantastic, and went really well at Donington this week. I'm using the "standard" M3 as my daily driver. Oh, the hardship. Costing me an arm and a leg though. Cheers.

PS, Nick......Did you get your gun? Now be careful with it, I don't want the police knocking on my door wondering which muppet signed your license forms........

Whassup doc?

Now you know I wouldn't just sell that car to any to anyone, it had to go somewhere a bit special.. but no, I haven't seen it since.. it's nice to know he is using it in the magazine though.

Two M3's is just not fair, specially a Sportevo... who did you buy it from?

One guy off the American list posted a picture of his daily driver M3 towing his track M3 to the circuit... that'll be you then at Croft'03!

...oh and yes, Oi got moi gun thaanks.

Nick

Now then, Nick.

It was good to see your car being driven by someone who appreciates it.

I got the the Sport Evo from the guy who brought the Group A  racing car to Croft, his name is David and he lives in Newcastle like me. You remember me reversing up the pitlane to jump start the racing car? You wandered up to have a word! Anyway,  he offered it to me for sale after I complained that my car was a bit slow and roly-poly. It has the Munich Legends Trackmeister gear, cage, harnesses etc. I have fitted an American brake cooling kit......bigger air intakes with big flexible pipes that direct cool air directly to the centre of the discs via new backing plates. No fade, but I still warped the discs a little at Doninton. Chris Wadsley drove the car At Donington and thought it was sound.

I've also got a spare set of wheels with Dunlop Formula R tyres which grip really well.

I'm tempted by the Motec system fitted to your car's new owner, what do you think? Are you getting another M3 soon?

I agree Nick - he has too many

You know I really must use that voucher I won from you at the Croft track day 2 years ago in the raffle!!

Didnt get there this year - looking forward to doing it in 03 with a good p*ss up in Richmond on Sunday night.  That thought has just occurred to me and is gaining momentum as I type.

Have you thought about doing a first -  (you can tell I've been on the red) the first club 24 hour trackday!? If you are interested I might even give a hand organising on the day........

alas poor Simon, the voucher has now expired... It is only valid while there are enough funds in the kitty to pay for some lucky ba5tard to go free, but as we are now skint you will have to pay like everyone else.

and as for you Doc, I see from that weblink that you are subscribed to some sad west coast american site... muppet!

Nick.....cheeky fecker.......the bloke who runs the American site asked me to send him some pics for his site because he'd seen them on other M3 sites and he thought they looked well. So there.
