No Alpina's should ever be inflicted with a DIEsel engine. End of. It's like buying an M5 then worring about fuel consumption and converting it to LPG, but worse.
If I can remember, it didn't get a very good write up in a car mag I've read when it had been on long term road test.

Can't be that difficult to google a road test report for that car.
