This BMW M3 Evo II is an official UK car of which there were only 50
models and this I believe the most stunning colour, Macau blue. I've
done around 6k miles in my three years of ownership with the car
currently having 149k on the clock. The speedo has always been in MPH
and the history of the car can be traced right back not like these
imported cars. I am the fifth owner of the car. The previous owner had
it for eleven years and no expense was spared with me having receipts
and every MOT dating back to 1995 with me continuing this up to date.
The car has full history with stamps well into the second book mostly
from independent garages. My local garage has done all necessary works
always using genuine BMW parts. I always keep the car garaged and only
bring it out on good days now.
Mechanical :
The car has been modified with
all mechanical work being carried out by Martek Motorsport in
birmingham (gearbox reconditioned, schrick cams, timing chain and top
end recondition etc). The Motec ECU, Bilstein suspension and Miltek
exhaust upgrades were carried out by Powerstation in Tewkesbury. The
cumulative effect of these modifications is around 20BHP over the
standard Evo II giving 239BHP now. The OBC works perfect apart from the
MPG which is disabled when the Motec ECU is fitted. The car runs on
either Shell V Power or Tesco 99 RON. I have all the original parts
(BMW ECU, AFM, cams, BMW shockers, airbox, yellow indicators etc) to
return the car to standard condition. There's also a
9-pin D-type RS232 connector for the Motec fitted in the dashboard for
convenience when attaching a laptop to adjust various settings. I've
got the disc for the laptop but never ventured any further with it.
Interior :
The
original grey half leather/ half cloth interior has been re trimmed by
Atrim (BMW leather specialist) at a cost of 1k. The seats are now 1/2
black leather and 1/2 grey alcantara. The door cards have also been re
trimmed in black leather. This combination looks really good and has
worn extremely well with a faint hint of wear on the drivers seat. I've
installed a Sony cd/mp3 player with ipod connection but also have a
period style JVC cd player that might look more at home should you wish
this.
Bodywork :
The car has just undergone a full
respray with two new wings and bonnet supplied from Douglas Park BMW.
One of the wings was showing signs of bubbling so I decided to replace
both rather than try rid the rust from coming through. The bonnet was
replaced as the previous owner parked the car under a chestnut tree and
so there were lots off wee tiny dents. The scuttle was done by previous
owner and so didn't require any work. The car has not been in an
accident and was HPI clear when I bought it. The front floor pans were
done then waxoyled and sealed with the full interior removed.
Wheels :
The car is running on genuine Cecotto
alloys which have just been refurbished and wrapped in new Toyo Proxys.
I have 17" BBS split rims (wider rears) which again have been
refurbished and wrapped in new Avons but would be asking around 1k more
for the two sets to go with the car.
I have enjoyed my three years of ownership and although have
not done many miles I've loved every minute. The stares from people
when driving round the streets never fails to bring a smile. When
hitting the B roads it doesn't feel like a 22 year old car with the
engine response still crisp and handling sharp. I have decided to sell
the car as I'm working more and more and I don't want the car just
lying in a garage anymore going to waste. I have many pictures
detailing the car and I will be at Gaydon on Sunday 15th should you
wish to view rather than come up to Scotland.
Looking for around £15,000 and £16,000 with the split rims. No trade in thanks.
Alan.
