This is my first Better Driving Day, so I have questions about a helmet (which I do not currently have): I understand a helmet is required on the track.

What specification/standard does the helmet have to meet?

Can I rent (or borrow) one on the day?

If I can borrow or rent, should I buy one now anyway (assuming I don't frighten myself at Rockingham), ready for this event and hopefully future events?

Thanks    Dave

David

Forgot to answer you question whats a Show & Shine its a lesser version of concours. It includes modified cars but you car must be VERY CLEAN. In side and out and a bit of under bonnet cleaning goes along way.OK?

Hi David
Sorry I have not replyed before but this Rockingham do is taking up all my time. No resone you shuold not take you car on the track you may not be as fast as the M3s. I have be told you can learn a lot about driving on the road from track sessions. Remember you must have all your documents for the road to go on the track. You should have track day insurance if you bend it you are not covered. Hope you can come its going to be a great day.

The M Power Club will be running a BDD as well. So contact the office to book your place on the track.

Do we know if the BDD will be on the road circuit / OVAL / or both ?? The club office didn't seem to know when I called them

Hi Guys

Jeff Heywood,Richard Baxter and John Safe are visiting Rockingham on Tuesday 20th Jan. We will then have a better idea of the layout. Yes there will be an area for E30s and the show & shine will be for E30s only.

Will there be designated parking for E30's only? Will they be on show? you know what it's like the best cars are always in the car parks!

Ron:
Rockingham has a gigantic car park, so there will be space for everyone!
Check out www.rockingham.co.uk
Go to information. Don't be fooled, these parking areas are massive.

Folks,

We heard about your event and a bunch of us from BM3W [maybe around 25+ cars possibly including a few M3 CSLs] would love to come upto the event - could we get a chunk of the car park or something?

Regards,

Neil.

On the subject of badges

At the ham radio events I attend (sad but fun! ), people tend to have thier callsigns on badges normally with the RSGB logo.

They are two layer plastic, and a machine engraves through the top layer to show the colour underneath.

I have access to a machine that can do this, its used to engrave machine button labels, start stop etc, I even have the rectangle blanks.

Does anyone have the badge bits we can glue on?

I could only do the name though, I dont have the stencil for the BMW logo

Best Wishes

Nigel

I have spoken to Jeff and Andrew at the Club and if there are enough people interested we can have E30 shirts I will put this on the general section on the forum.
