Hasn't there been a recent problem with wheels cracking and BMW not doing anything about it, putting it down to wear and tear?

is it not 225 alloys you have? Take the car to BMW and get them to check the alloy Push for a new one These alloys are hard to come by now and folk are stealing them (warning to others get more locks) Try alloywheelsdirect Someone got 2 from there the other day
or ebay

Cheers, Yeah they are the M225 rims, nightmare trying to source one. BMW dealers are charging 421 & VAT not includng tyre!!! All the 19" on ebay are refurbishment rims which have been welded, wont be as strong but its looking like I have no other options. |

There have been a few articles and letters in BMW Car and Total BMW over recent months about this, specifically with 19" alloys and rft's. BMW are denying there is a weakness with the wheel and that its down to usage (or ab-usage). It does seem that they are replacing some as goodwill gestures but it still seems a bit hit and miss as to whether you'll get it. They have done it this way on a number of issues over the years, nikasil, e36/46 subframe mounts, etc. The hit and miss bit antagnoizes a lot of customers and must cost BMW business. Usually they get a bit more reasonable over time but only after they have p'eed a lot of people off. They'd be better off just 'fessing up at an early stage and taking it on the chin.
