Wonder what the legalities of that are in terms of Audi warranty etc.  Must have been a fairly new machine and in good nick for plod to take it over.

That's a good point - one way of looking at it could be (playing devils advocate here) that the BiB have stolen the car...

I wonder what happens with the V5 and registered keeper?
