well after 8 years of happy ownership a (suspected) blown head gasket has ended the relationship
car runs fine but with outside temperatures near zero it needs A LOT of cranking and full throttle in the morning to get it going. Once started it drives and starts just fine. You can smell petrol on cold starts so I guessed and over fueling problem.
Changed engine temp sensor and had injectors cleaned but no difference.
THERE IS WHITE SLUDGE UNDER THE OIL FILLER CAP
Tried to make compression test but my cheapo compression tester has a mind of it's own but from what I can see it is BAD.
Cars spec:
S-plate 318iS 1.9 M44 engine
4 door saloon.
full M-Pack from factory, i.e. bumpers, steering wheel, seats etc.

AC Schnitzer 17 inch copies. All more or less curbed but not buckled.

MOT November 2010. Only needed new ball joints to pass
back box not too old either
BAD POINT:
obviously engine problems. Runs and pull well once started. Driven once a week to seaside and back 240miles on top of weekly commute
