I got stuck today in the snow trying to get out my street. My traction control light is on with ABS and brake on dash. Plugged the peake code reader in and got 85 (steering angle sensor timeout) & 75 (Servotronic speed signal). I tryed clearing codes but lights stay on (No EML light) I tryed disconnecting the battery (Which got my Max A/C button to work as I just change FSU 3rd one in 2 years). Any ideas? Battery disconnected just now. Straight road so no kerbs etc involved. I thought it might have been the T/C over heating like in the freelander I used to have for work due to wheel spin but it was only 5 mins and not full gutty. When I go throught the peake code reader menu's theres oil inps etc etc but There is one with an "h" which has code 31 and something else (never remember seeing it before). checked all fuse in glove box 17, 30, 31 plus checked the boot too no fuses blown in car as fas as I can see. The (!) comes on amber then goes red when key first turned the goes amber but the T/C and ABS stay on in amber. I Checked the brake fluid just in case but plenty there must be about 3-4mm from max level. checked all fuse in glove box 17, 30, 31 plus checked the boot too no fuses blown in car as far as I can see. I have reset codes and it's clear but still got the lights. This car is brilliant but has a way of kicking you in the heid! |

I would have said that it has just thrown a wobbly due to the amount of wheel spin and unusual movements of the car caused by the snow. Give it a few hours to settle down with the car locked and take it back out for a drive when the roads are clear so you don't get any wheel slip. I have had a wobbly in mine when on doing a full lock manouever in a car park which had loose gravel after starting up. The sensors need time to calibrate which they do in the first few revolutions of the wheel. If something weird happens in this process it can upset it and cause it to throw ted, blanket and all the toys out the pram. This throws all the red lights on in the dash. I park the car lock it, un lock it and drive off and the fault goes. Other than that, its a diagnostic job at a specialist mibbie? |

Ahhh I've heard about that one. Yeah grey cells have heard that one. Glad you have got it sorted! Take it you will not be going out again to have fun in the snow incase the samething happens? I had some great tail action coming home turning into my street at 10 mph. |

A car is to be driven
I will when I can and if I can't her indoors wee golf will do the business. Cracking wee car in the snow. I think the council should have them instead of those gritter lorries as there as scarce as rocking horse sh#t. Not seen on in my street EVER either that or Tom Tom dosn't take them past a snack van here in Law. |
