If the 20 mph limit is on a white sign with a green circle border than I don't think it is enforcable.  The green, I think, means advisory speed limit, like around schools and in housing estates etc.

One for Gary to confirm?

Interesting though innit ;)

Oh and on a side note, was moaning to the wife who works for local council, and moaning as I do about the speed bumps and traffic calming, she said that the reason the roads are not ploughed so much when the snow comes down is due to the fact that the speed bumps are the problem for the ploughs ... duh !!! Didnt think of that ...

One other gem of information is that from what she has heard from Transportation, the 20mph speed limit is not enforceable because its not law ??? I need to look into this more.

Having said that after my "incident" with plod of which I am still awaiting the "judgement" I have been adhering to all speed limits and I am bored ...lol ... no seriously .... it is easier and you arrive at desination ... bored but arrive refreshed and stress free :D

The one I'm referring to is 16th November 2008, just off Station Rd, Broxburn, a short distance before it goes under the M8, is that classed as Whitecross?

Your ok then .... no fatalities in my neck of the woods apparently .....

Some would argue that all the scameras, road humps, traffic calming, pot holes, and dead wildlife is working to deter speed.

Interesting to see that most of the ones near me are on 30mph limit roads.

Would there have been a fatality if they were only doing 30mph I wonder?

This might be of interest to some of you ....

Its not totally morbid but lets you choose your area to see where the death roads are. !!! Lets see if those scameras are justified then !!
